Debra is an experienced yoga instructor with a foundation in Baptist Hot Power yoga as well as over 1000 hours yoga for therapy training and many adaptive Yoga workshops that add to her diverse style of yoga instruction. Debra first tried yoga in 2005 in a search to find relief for chronic pain. After learning and living the the health benefits and healing properties of Yoga for several years she took her first teaching training program and became a 200 hr certified yoga teacher in 2013, competed her 300 hr certification in 2014 with a focus in yoga therapy, and become Prenatal yoga certified in 2016.
Debra recognizes each body as a whole and often says ”if you have a spine you can practice yoga”. Without placing limitations, Debra invites her students to become embodied and listen to what the body has to say while moving into the shapes that work for each person’s ability, find strength and stability, then give up the struggle to find balance, ease and success. She believes that movement with breath not only provides more oxygen for the body but encourages a meditative yoga practice that treats the mind, body and spirit to be present for the NOW.
In her spare time you will find Debra hiking, playing in the dirt or with her family of 4 adult children and 9 grand children which fill her heart with love and Joy!
